The Holy Cross and St Helen's Church, Lincoln or also known as the 'Congregation at Holy Cross and St. Helen's

congregation in the Boultham area of Lincoln in the ceremonial county of Lincolnshire. England. The church was formed from the congregations of both the Holy Cross and St Helen's. The congregation meets in the Holy Cross Church on Skellingthorpe Road. The congregation also use the nearby St Helen's Church for special occasions for events and services.[2]

Holy Cross

The Holy Cross church is located on Skellingthorpe Road in the Boultham area and is an active parish church. The church was originally built for the increasing congregation of St Helen's and the Holy Cross congregation who merged to form the Congregation of the Holy Cross and St Helen. The Holy Cross Church is not grade listed but maintains an important use for both religious and secular uses.[3][4]

St Helen's Church is a grade II*

13th Century. After a period of being abandoned, it was restored to use by C. Hodgson Fowler for use as a place of worship and it has since been declared redundant but remains in use for occasional services and events by both the local community and Holy Cross and St Helen Congregation. It was grade II* listed in October 1953. The church is joined with the nearby Holy Cross Church as the "Congregation of Holy Cross and St Helen's".[6]

Part of the church's listing entry describes it as having:

"FITTINGS include a good square baluster shaped font, C18, inscribed "Boultham Church", and a desk with reused C18 fleur-de-lys ends. C19 fittings include octagonal oak skeleton pulpit, traceried stalls, wrought-iron altar rail and plain octagonal font. MEMORIALS include 2 tablets, mid C19, and 3 brasses c1900, all to the Ellison family of Boultham Hall. Brass war memorial tablet, 1919." - "Buildings of England : Lincolnshire: Pevsner N: Lincolnshire: London: 1989-: 526".[7]
