Military career
Educated at
General Officer Commanding South West District in 1971.[2] He went on to be Assistant Chief of the General Staff (Operational Requirements) in 1974 and Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff (Operational Requirements) in 1976 before retiring in 1978.[2]
In retirement he became a Director of Fairey Engineering.[1] He lived at Shaftesbury in Dorset.[3] He was one of the three Presidents of the UK-based charity Action on Addiction.[4]
He died on 12 September 2019 at the age of 97.[5]
