Malden is located at 42°5′36″N 73°56′5″W / 42.09333°N 73.93472°W (42.093279, -73.934804).[2]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.3 km2), all land.
The community is on the west bank of the Hudson River.
