Geography

Media is located in southeastern Henderson County. Illinois Route 116 passes through the village, leading west and north 9 miles (14 km) to U.S. Route 34 near Biggsville, and south and east 11 miles (18 km) to Roseville.

According to the 2010 census, Media has a total area of 1.7 square miles (4.40 km2), all land.[4]

Origin of the village name

According to the common theory, the name of the village originated from the fact that the town is situated halfway between

Santa Fe Railroad.[7]
