Montana Colors, also known as MTN, or sometimes Spanish Montana[1] (to distinguish it from German brand Montana Cans), is an art company founded by Jordi Rubio in Barcelona in 1994.[2] The majority of its products are designed for use in graffiti.[3][4] They are considered to be one of the best spray paint brands in the world.[5][6][7]

Collaborations

In a collaboration with Beyond the Streets, MTN have created custom paint cans with artists[8] including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, André,[9][10] Chor Boogie,[11] Ron English,[12] Mister Cartoon,[13] and Shephard Fairey[14] as well as brands Carharrt[15] and Casio.[16] And apaint named Rita Grey in honour of Spanish politician Rita Barberá being "responsible for the disappearance of countless amounts of graffiti."[17]

Montana Colors have sponsored street art festivals in Australia,[18] the USA[19] most notably Beyond The Streets.[20][21]

Relationship with Montana Cans

Montana Cans, a German paint brand, began in 1995 after Montana Colors pulled out of a brand deal with German company after they already had the rights to use the name Montana.[22][23]
