Mullion wall
A mullion wall is a structural system in which the load of the floor slab is taken by prefabricated panels around the perimeter. Visually, the effect is similar to the stone-
Perpendicular Gothic or Elizabethan architecture
.
The technology was devised by
Manchester University Humanities Building (1961–67).[2]
A similar concept to the mullion wall was adopted by
US Embassy, London (1955–60) and by Minoru Yamasaki at the World Trade Center
, New York (1966–73).
