Early life

Polishetty was born into a middle class family in

NIT Bhopal). He moved to England to work as an engineer. He then decided to return to India to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. As his parents were opposed to it, he did not inform them of his return and lived in Mumbai by renting a house. He did part-time jobs to pursue a full-time career in acting, worked in theatre and performed in plays.[4]

Career

Naveen Polishetty started his career by performing in theatre plays. After years of performing theatre play shows across India Naveen moved to Mumbai where he started collaborating to make YouTube videos. Naveen became an internet sensation with his acting monologue videos ‘The truth of engineering “ and “half day” becoming viral, clocking close to 50 million views.

In 2019, Polishetty made his debut as a leading man in Telugu cinema with the comedy thriller film Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya, which he co-wrote and played the lead. The film, made at a low budget turned out to be a super hit, grossing 25 crores worldwide. Naveen won Best Actor at the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Awards South for his portrayal of detective Athreya. He then made his Hindi cinema debut in Nitesh Tiwari's Chichhore as Acid. Chichhore went onto gross 150 crore globally and also earned Naveen a Zee Cine awards nomination for Best Actor in a comic role. He then starred in the 2021 blockbuster comedy film Jathi Ratnalu. The film was a blockbuster at the box office, with a gross collection of ₹70 crore. The film thus emerged as Polishetty's biggest success. Naveen won the Best Actor award at the prestigious SIIMA awards for his portrayal of Jogipet Srikanth in Jathi Ratnalu. Naveen then followed it up with the super hit rom com Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty co starring Anushka Shetty where he played a stand up comedian. The film released in September 2023 and grossed more than 50 crores worldwide. Naveen Polishetty has a rare feat of delivering four consecutive blockbuster films across Telugu and Hindi industries.
