North 30th Street is a two-way street that runs south–north in the
North Omaha area of Omaha, Nebraska. With the street beginning at Dodge Street, historically significant sections include those from Dodge to Lake Street, from Fort Street
to Laurel Avenue, and from Weber to Bondesson Streets.
History
Twelve years before the city of Omaha was founded,
public school along North 30th, was opened in 1916. The Harry Buford House was built by a leader in the city's African American community
in 1929.
Under the pretense of
streetcar line along the street was required for the project to be completed.[1] In 1953 Sabastiono Caniglia bought a restaurant at the intersection of Fort and North 30th Streets which eventually became his notable Mister C's
. It closed in 2007.
