Notopteroidei is a suborder of the order
Gymnarchidae (aba), Notopteridae (feather backs and knifefish) and Mormyridae (elephantfishes), as well as several extinct taxa. The Mormyridae are weakly electric fishes, able to locate prey in turbid water.[1][2][3]
