Shelby is a civil township of Oceana County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 4,109 at the 2020 census.^[3]

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.1 square miles (93.5 km²), of which, 36.0 square miles (93.2 km²) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km²) is water.

The average household size was 2.82 and the average family size was 3.26.

By age, 30.5% of the population was under 18, 9.2% from 18 to 24, 25.8% from 25 to 44, 20.9% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% were 65 or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.8 males.
