The Governor's School @ Innovation Park (GS@IP) is a magnet school in Virginia and one of 19 Virginia Governor's Schools[4]. It is a partial-day academic year school program with a focus on the disciplines of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)[3][5].

The program is affiliated with George Mason University, situated on the Science and Technology campus[2][3][6].

Attendance at the program is open to students in 3 local jurisdictions based on academic achievement and essays[3][5].

Curriculum

Students that are selected to enter the program each select a "strand" (biology, chemistry, engineering, or physics) they want to specialize in during their two-year study [3][7]. Students then return to their base high schools in the afternoon to take language arts, history, and elective classes in addition to extracurricular activities[7].
