Tournament section

Methinks it'd be a good idea to add a section where people can add annual Tournaments. For example, I'm from the Dallas, Texas area and I know that the "Crew" (so to speak) here goes annually to TiT (Tekken In Texas) and a variety of other tournaments held on both the East and West Coasts. It'd be neat if people could add tournaments local to them so that anyone interested in joining the tournament scene would be able to follow a link to the tournament's official webpage. We'd have to keep it narrowed down to the major tournies, though - no weekly stuff, just the major regional tournaments. TKarrde 14:51, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm...Sounds like a novel idea, but I'm not sure how to go about it. -ZeroTalk 23:42, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As someone who attends many tournaments of varying significance, my opinion is that this would be a gargantuan jabberwocky of a task. Absoutely prohibitive in magnitude, it would eclipse the fundamental content of this page. No-one would be able to draw the line between significant and minor. Inaccuracies would abound. Etc, etc, there are a dozen reasons this idea is a poor fit for Wikipedia. The link to Tekken Zaibatsu, where such events are truly coordinated, is sufficient.
Now, on the other hand, a worthwhile article might be one on the culture of hardcore gamers who gather at regular tournaments: their subgroups, rules, mores, vocabulary, and most exceptional stories. Phil Bond 15:42, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PS2 release?

It has been suggested that Dark Resurrection is in for a console release, mainly because of the predictable success of this game for the PS2. Similarly, GTA: Liberty City Stories is recieving a console release. --[Unsigned]

I wish this were true. I'd so wanna buy this game. --User:Angie Y.

It's very possible, but there is no word of this so-far. Phil Bond 02:11, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I want it for the ps2!--D-Boy 08:23, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism

Stop posting criticism on the title. It is a general success. The criticisms sound like opinion to me and are very pointless.Jagzthebest 17:57, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fix the change?

124.107.63.28 just added "Revolver Ocelot/liqud MGS2" to the list of new characters in Tekken 5. Can someone fix it? This section can be deleted afterward.Original Voyager (talk) 03:51, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Combine the ports?

I've played both Tekken 5 and Dark Resurrection there wasn't much of a difference. Only the PS3 was more different due to being from a different generation. The story and gameplay are also the same to the point that the PS2 and PSP have the same scores in Metacritic. There isn't too much content that makes the ports stand out so I was wondering if we should merge the articles. There isn't really too more fork content and most of Dark Resurrection's article seems to be really overdetailed. Tintor2 (talk) 00:27, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I thought you said at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games that you haven't played Dark Resurrection.
Anyway, I would keep it. Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection is not a mere port. It's a complete upgrade to the game, featuring more characters, more stages, more modes, balance changes and the like. Think Super Street Fighter II, compared to Street Fighter II or Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, compared to Mortal Kombat 3.
Nice work on these articles, by the way. I've been meaning to do more work on the Tekken articles for a while myself (especially after the announcement for Tekken 8), but I've been kind of busy. Maybe I'll do some edits to it and some other Tekken-related articles soon. MoonJet (talk) 06:57, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
