The Commonwealth Games Organising Committee officially signed in Rahman to compose the song in April 2010.[2] Rahman asked 15 crores as renumeration, a much big amount.[2] However, considering that all this money is basically what the common man pays as income tax, it was finalised at 5.5 crore.[2] The Group of Ministers approved the song on August 15, 2010.[3] Rahman would also be associated with the promotional events of the sporting event.
