The film is an indie production. A short of the film premiered at a film festival in Hollywood in summer 2009, it was then titled FEVER, and used as a test screening on the American audience.[2]

After high street retailers like HMV went bust, quickly followed by Blockbuster, and then The UK's biggest distributor REVOLVER ENTERTAINMENT going bust, the producers of the film noticed a gap in the market, and a shifting landscape in cinema distribution. The Traditional model was that cinema was a loss leader for DVD. With HMV, Blockbuster, and online DVD retailers like play.com also out of business. The question was what would Cinema be a loss leader for now? STREAMING? DOWNLOADS? Since 17 March 2013, the film has been available to be streamed on the official website. The producers of FEDZ, feel they are in the right area of delivery of content as Microsoft has taken a huge step forward to delivering on the Xbox 360's potential as a dedicated set-top box with the release of Pulp, the first film to ever be released on the 55+ million user platform before it hits the cinema or a physical disc. Therefore, by Streaming FEDZ the producers feel they are moving with the times, the VOD release has led to a demand to see the movie on the big Screen and a Cinema tour is being planned with artists from the soundtrack. Fedz used a mixtape to market the soundtrack, which has been nominated for an OFFICIAL MIXTAPE AWARD. Fedz used the internet and social media to gain awareness and in a recent article Q, talks about the need for UK black audiences to support UK film, this all comes at a time when when black actors in the UK are complaining about being overlooked by BAFTA's, and where P Diddy, the American hip hop mogul, did a spoof about the first black character in Downtown Abbey, and Lenny Henry and Reggie Yates both going to press saying that black actors in the UK are under represented on film and TV. Q has gone out to the market with his film and forged his own path without any complaint and created jobs for others in the film industry in front and behind the camera. <http://www.voice-online.co.uk/article/taking-his-q-technology <ref name="flavourmag2"/>
