Ruhul Amin (Bengali: রুহুল আমিন) is a Bangladeshi-born British film director.

Biography

In the early 1980s, Amin came to Britain with his parents from Bangladesh. While he was at school, he made his first documentary-drama Prubo London. He attended National Film and Television School.

In 1986, he made his first feature film for Channel 4 Television entitled A Kind of English.[1][2]

Amin has made 13 films for the

documentaries and experimental dramas.[3] He is currently making an epic Bengali feature based film on the life and music of a rural Bengali folk, mystic poet and singer Hason Raja played by Mithun Chakraborty, produced by Galaxy Films between UK, India and Bangladesh.[4]
