AN Mahfuza Khatun Baby Maudud (23 June 1948 – 25 July 2014) was a Bangladeshi journalist, politician, and writer.[1]

Early life and career

Maudud was the third among six brothers and three sisters.[2] She studied journalism at the University of Dhaka.[3]

Maudud served as the Social Affairs Editor at bdnews24.com.[2] She was the Chief News Editor of the state-run news agency, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).[3] Since 1967, she worked for the BBC, The Sangbad, The Daily Ittefaq, and Weekly Bichitra.[2]

Maudud took part in

Begum Sufia Kamal in 1971.[4]

Personal life

Maudud's father, Abdul Maudud, was a justice. She was married to advocate Md Hasan Ali. Together they had two sons, Rabiul Hasan Avi and Shafiul Hassan Dipto.[2]
