According to the 2022 Bangladesh census, Sreepur city had a population of 258,946 and a literacy rate of 82.18%.[3]: 388–394 

According to the 2011 Bangladesh census, Sreepur city had 31,470 households and a population of 126,249. 25,077 (19.86%) were under 10 years of age. Sreepur had a literacy rate (age 7 and over) of 63.30%, compared to the national average of 51.8%, and a sex ratio of 880 females per 1000 males.[2]

Sreepur city is governed by a

mahallas. Sreepur municipality occupies an area of 46.90 km2 of the total city area. The entire city is administrated by Sreepur municipality.[4]
