The evening dress image was on this page when I found it and is dated "about 1860" in the source, but from the skirt size and the number of flounces it looks more like 1850s to me. It could be an 1850s image printed in 1860 in the US. Any experts in the house? Should we change this for something later, say by Winterhalter? PKM 21:40, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I gave up struggling about where to put the Brady-Handy photos dated "1855-1865" in the Commons and decided to stick them here. Most of the clothes look like 1860 or later (and of course men keep their clothes for long periods, and older men tend not to follow the whims of fashion). If anyone has a better idea for placement of the note, chime in. - PKM 18:34, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
