As a gesture to a similar situation...1994 World Series...this page was created to show that the 1942 Indianapolis 500 actually was planned and officially scheduled. Tickets were sold for the event, but it was cancelled. Since the 1994 World Series, which was also cancelled, had a page describing the situation, this page seemed appropriate.
