Article over-detailed tag

I notice that this article had an over-detailed tag added to it (which someone since removed incorrectly). The simple reason for this was the bombardment of stats, links, and

WP:FANCRUFT
. People editing this article really should read up on Wikipedia's policies/guidelines, because a lot of this article was in a violation of them, until I recently made a quite substantial edit to fix things, though the article may still need even more work. First of all, stats/facts should be backed up by explicit sources, that is to say, a source that explicitly states "this was the fastest/highest etc of the season". They should not just be matchday reports. Original research (research you have done using multiple sources to come to a conclusion yourself) is not permitted, as per
WP:FANCRUFT
.

Now onto the second issue - linking. Repeated links to clubs, locations, sponsors, kit manufacturers etc are not necessary. Links should only be added to things never before mentioned in the article, 1 to 2 links to the same thing in one article is plenty. I have decreased the number of links in the article, but there are still too many. Hope that explains the issues this article had. Reddev87 (talk) 10:36, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
