Number of teams shown in the qualifying section

I find having exactly eight teams in the qualifying section if not downright misinformative, at least confusing. In it we have the teams who have already secured their playoff berths, followed by an arbitrary number of teams still fighting for theirs. Especially now that the playoff race is very tight, the tail end of the table changes almost daily.

The problem is that at first glance I get the idea that all the playoff teams have already been decided, and only a closer look reveals that some of them haven't made it yet. To improve the table, I suggest one of the following:

  • Include only the teams that have already clinched their playoff berths (the table would then start with one row and stop at eight)
  • Include all the teams who are still in the playoff race (the table would start out bigger and be narrowed down as the season progresses)

Usually, when I have a table such as we now have, one of the first things I want to know is: "How far behind is the 9th-placed team?" The current table doesn't answer this, but rather teases the reader. Antti29 (talk) 11:56, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Trivial info

I think there are too many trivial information in the lead, and most of them are unreferenced. 203.173.94.118 (talk) 09:22, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Box score links

Most of the box score external links to NBA.com no longer work. The only ones I've found that do work are the Clippers/Rockets series.
