At the moment there are considerations to exclude the teams of Russia (Olympic Compitee) and Belarus. This should be kept in mind and included in the article if necessary. The background is that practically 90% of the players from Russia come from the Army Sport Club "ZSKA Moscow", train there and compete for them. It is still the case there that formally and in the vast majority of cases also practically they are active soldiers who have and have had military training and are exempted from the weapon only for the purpose of representation. Before and after their career (which for some is only a few years) they are soldiers at arms. As far as my contacts in sports go, there is currently no personnel overlap between the invading forces in Ukraine and the soldiers representing Russia, as logically those in charge in Moscow will make sure their best players are on the ice. But the fact is that these players are Russian soldiers and representatives of the Russian military, even if they do not formally compete under the Russian flag. It is also a fact that they are competing in the Russian colors. Furthermore, one must question the participation of the Belarusians, from whose territory the attack was launched due to the proximity to Kiev. It is also questionable why the athletes of the Russian team can start under the flag of the IOC, when the IOC has nothing to do with the World Ice Hockey Federation in the first place. In the decision to let them start at the Olympics, one can still go along if the organizer takes them under his wing. It is also known that only the Russian federation and Russian Athlete Team Management should be punished because of their doping actions while the athletes who were free of guilt (no doping offense proven) may start.
