Date error - Distinguished Unit Citation

In the History, World War II subsection the following statement appears in error.

Assisting the strategic bombardment of enemy industry the group received another DUC for braving fighter assaults and antiaircraft fire to bomb tank factories at Berlin on 24 May 1945.

WW II ended in Europe on 8 May 1945, so it would appear that the "24 May 1945" date is in error. Perhaps someone has access to the correct date. --TGC55 (talk) 12:29, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

According to this site [1] of the Air Force Historical Research Agency, the correct date of the second DUC award is 24 March 1946. --TGC55 (talk) 12:53, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That is even more unrealistic --Lineagegeek (talk) 22:42, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The references to DUC dates have been moved to

Designation

In the first revision of this article, a statement was added that the unit was redesignated as the 483d Composite Wing in 1971. No authority is cited for this redesignation and it is contradicted by Ravenstein, Charles A. (1984). Air Force Combat Wings, Lineage & Honors Histories 1947-1977 (PDF). Washington, DC: Office of Air Force History.

435th Tactical Airlift Wing instead. The revoked orders did not include a redesignation from 483d Composite Wing back to 483d Tactical Airlift Wing. This article (among other things) needs to be retitled and moved. In view of this, I have reassessed--Lineagegeek (talk) 20:24, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply

Attachment of C-130 Squadrons

The listing of squadrons assigned states that the squadrons of the

463d Tactical Airlift Wing at Clark Air Base
were attached to the wing from 1967-1972. This list has no reference or citation. I would propose deleting the squadrons. The available references (AFHRA Factsheet, 29th Weapons Sq (accessed Oct 27, 2012), Ravenstein, Charles A. (1984). Air Force Combat Wings, Lineage & Honors Histories 1947-1977 (PDF). Washington, DC: Office of Air Force History. p. 257. . (463d TAW), Ravenstein pp. 268-269 (483d TAW)) do not indicate detachment from the 463d or attachment to the 483d. Also the 29th TAS was inactivated on 31 Oct 1970 and could not have been attached after that date and the 463d TAW and its remaining squadrons were not located at Clark until 1968.

AFHRA Factsheet, 834th Air Division (accessed Oct 27, 2012) states that the

374th Tactical Airlift Wing. C-130s and their crews rotated on an individual basis, and the squadrons of the 315th Air Division's three C-130 wings did not rotate as units, much less for a period of five years.--Lineagegeek (talk) 14:11, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply
