I don't really see what this adds to the article. Is there a legitimate genre here or is this just a synonym for

Acoustic rock is is a genre with acoustic instruments (acoustic guitars, acoustic bass guitars) and Folk rock uses both acoustic and electric instruments. Acoustic punk uses acoustic instruments only unlike anti-folk. --Thebluesharpdude (talk) 04:57, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Then you should probably put it into an article of its own, as this article obviously deals more with instrumentation (as opposed to "genres" in the more typical sense). Plus I share MrFizyx's neologism/

Um......For future reference, a classical guitar is in fact an acoustic guitar. An acoustic instrument is any instrument that plays without the aide of electrical equipment and uses its body to produce a specific sound. Drums can be considered an acoustic instrument even. Just a reminder to all those who wanted to keep this article four months ago in the Afd discussion, and particularly those that indicated how it could be improved, that nothing has happened. Why you do not improve the article yoursef? I beleive that you are very well aware of its deficiencies, so you are very good person to do it. As a side note: this article helped me a lot today and althought is might possibly be improved, the deletion is not improvement at all. The purpose of Wikipedia is to help readers, not primarily to follow rules. Language is complicated; there are many ways in which English is badly designed. The rules designed for Wikipedia may not be adequate to cover all cases of human knowledge or all cases of human need for knowledge.

This Wikipedia article was very helpful to me. Please don't delete it. I sometimes manage music events, but I'm not a musician. It's likely I will need this article again to remind myself of what it says.

Many edits were not made to this article; simply added new information relevant to the genre of acoustic music. In our additions are the types of acoustic instruments, the history of acoustic music, and additional information regarding the general concept and genre. Adding this information to the article makes acoustic music clearer and benefits the reader by giving examples and context.
