This article starts at 1868, which seems a very late start for an article on agriculture in historical Japan. If anyone with authoritative information reads this, can they add a second about pre-"modernised" Japan? What was grown, which livestock was kept, who tended and for whom, etc?

I would like to contribute with an idea: When they place the title 'Meiji Period', the years of that period could be set for a better clarity of what year that 'Period' happened, for example 'Meiji Period (1XXX to 1xxx)'.
