Bill Curry

Just curious, but is there not a better picture of Bill Curry to use for the article? Maybe one of him not picking his nose? CH52584 (talk) 00:55, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Add the results of the 2018 CFB National Championship game to the table to show the win by the Alabama Crimson Tide over Georgia Bulldogs 26-23 in OT. 73.195.55.121 (talk) 08:01, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

74 is now correct

See the numerous places that list Alabama's 5 All-Americans this year, including the 2018 season page, as well as the 2018 All America page. Sources all ove the internet. Enigmamsg 16:40, 19 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Clemson rivalry

@Fnlayson:

What's the basis for the recent change to "Major Rivalries" which is 10+ years stable?[1].

It looks like the 71.75.0.128 IP vandalized the Rivalry section to expunge Clemson[2], then a new section title immediately ensued rather than a content restore[3] Silly or not, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alabama–Clemson football rivalry survived AfD, it is linked via both navboxes Template:Alabama Crimson Tide football navbox and Template:Clemson Tigers football navbox, and present in the corresponding team article at Clemson Tigers football#Rivalries. Since there wasn't any basis for any of the content be removed by the IP, it appears the content and naming convention should be restored. UW Dawgs (talk) 22:04, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The section label change was done to discourage the addition of minor rivalries, which has been an issue here a few times. I've changed this here in the past and made similar changes in various articles over the years too. -Fnlayson (talk) 22:21, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
But the term is meaningless and not in use in equivalent team article with multiple and historical rivalries. UW Dawgs (talk) 22:31, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed

National Championships 1941: Two sources are disputed. The Tuscaloosa News source which is cited saying something it does not say. The second source references a Sports Illustrated article but only links to a cover of the magazine. Editor continues to insert these sources without addressing the inaccuracy and/or lack of positive information.

Notre Dame listed under former rivalries

The "former rivalries" section lists Georgia Tech, Penn State, and Notre Dame. Georgia Tech and Penn State both have references to reliable sources referring to them as rivalries, but the Notre Dame section only lists a site showing the all-time record. Looking over it, it seems that the two have only played eight times. Is there any reliable source that calls Notre Dame vs Alabama a rivalry? Notre Dame Fighting Irish football rivalries makes no mention of Alabama. 2600:6C56:A7F:F68B:4179:AF76:1DE6:680F (talk) 01:02, 15 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Absent any evidence that it's a rivalry, I've removed that section. 2600:6C56:A7F:F68B:A1C2:E152:C68C:4F4D (talk) 15:33, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The dates for the FCS games are incorrect, Chattanooga goes in 2023, Mercer in 2024 and Eastern Illinois in 2025, plus Alabama scheduled a series with Minnesota that should be added. Thomallister1291 (talk) 16:22, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. MadGuy7023 (talk) 16:30, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Here are the sources that confirm that Alabama has scheduled Minnesota as well as the correct dates of the FCS games: https://fbschedules.com/ncaa/alabama/ Thomallister1291 (talk) 02:56, 12 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that we should add how Alabama got the name ""Crimson Tide "". 47.226.43.211 (talk) 02:33, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The name origin is covered at University of Alabama traditions and somewhat at History of Alabama Crimson Tide football already. -Fnlayson (talk) 02:42, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
