I've altered the opening sentence to remove the reference to the show being a spin-off from "Coronation Street". To be a spin-off, there would need to be either shared characters or locations, and as far as I can see neither of these apply. Jon Rob 10:58, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is still described as a "companion" to Coronation Street, but it is not clear in what sense. Apart from the unsourced publicity comment comparing it to Coronation Street in terms of its hoped-for longevity, and its Manchester setting (hardly surprising for Granada TV), there is nothing really in this article to establish the link between the two series.
