Is it possible to fire cannon in outer space? Would'nt it be impossible due to a lack of oxygen? Or maybe the Soviets developed cannon rounds with oxidizer mixed with the propellant?

It is a complete propellant with all necessary to work. For more information, see explosives.

Additionally, the station's altitude control thrusters were electronically linked to the gun's fire control system, such that they would fire in the opposite direction that the gun was facing, cancelling out the recoil. That way, the station's orbit would not be altered by the operation of the gun. MalikCarr 23:05, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, guns in space, in real life too; that's so cool. But wouldn't any rounds that miss orbit the Earth many times and have the potential to hit other satellites months later? Unlikely, since space is so big, but do they really need more

I'm sorry but what does this have to do with the article. Discussions are on the topic at hand, not speculative discussions Imasleepviking ( talk ) 05:26, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for being so harsh, I read the discussion with too much speculative nature without reading into the article finely. Still, a bit too speculative. Imasleepviking ( talk ) 05:31, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
