    Pass/Fail:
Lead

A great lead, which summarize the content below.

Opening and closing ceremonies
  • "Opening Ceremony" should not be capitalized
Done. --Starstriker7(Talk) 01:04, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Judo
  • "Judoka" should be linked
Done. --Starstriker7(Talk) 01:04, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Swimming

Everything correct

References
  • Ref 1: What does '''[sic]''' means in the title parameter? The work is "multimedia.olympic.org" and the publisher the IOC.
Explanation "sic" is used because in the work, the people misspelled Beijing as "Bejing." Sic means "as is." --Starstriker7(Talk) 01:04, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done Work and publisher issue addressed. --Starstriker7(Talk) 01:04, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ref 2: Why is the language "French and English"? I only see English. The work is "multimedia.olympic.org" and the publisher the IOC.
Explanation It actually is in English and French. There are rows in both languages. --Starstriker7(Talk) 01:04, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done Work and publisher issue addressed. --Starstriker7(Talk) 01:04, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ref 3 seems to be fine
  • Ref 4 also
  • The last ref is very strange and don't think it belongs there. I would create a section called "External links" and put it there.
Done + Comment I think that it was used to source the article previously, when it was just a stub. I've removed it because it now seems pretty extraneous. --Starstriker7(Talk) 01:09, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If these things are done, I will change to GA-status. Congratulation and Regards!--

Too many short paragraphs imo to be a GA. Needs to be brilliant. this is not
Wow, a very great review. You know, that size is not the most relevant thing for articles; quality ahead quantity. There is really nothing to add in the paragraphs, or have you a suggestion? "Needs to be brilliant"; no it should be good not

For short articles it needs to be brilliant. For longer articles good. Read GA instead of embarrasing your self —Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.102.254.209 (talk) 21:37, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

GA Reassessment

GA review (see here for criteria)

Based on the concerns expressed at

WT:GAN, I'm reassessing this article's GA status. I'm reviewing this revision
of the article.

  1. It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose): b (
    lists
    )
    :
The article is so short, but if concise prose is the ruler by which we measure writing quality, this passes, sadly. There's just not much text here though to judge the quality any further.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
    a (references): b (citations to
    reliable sources): c (OR
    ):
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
This article is a bit too hyper-focused. The short length (no body paragraph longer than three sentences) tells me that the article is not comprehensive. I've worked on M-209 (Michigan highway), which is about a 0.543-mile (0.874 km) former state highway in my home state of Michigan, and I still wrote a longer article than this one. For this limited of a subject, I'd expect some more information on the athletes. Some basic biographical information on them, maybe their reaction to the experience at being at the games. What about budgetary expenditures by Aruba to send the athletes and participate? Did they sent coaches or other officials to Beijing? There are plenty of avenues to expand this article.
  4. It follows the
    neutral point of view
    policy
    .
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have
    suitable captions
    )
    :
Only the flags. Too bad there aren't photos of either athlete to help illustrate the article
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
Based solely on concerns over coverage, I can not, in good conscience, leave this article as a Good Article. Please add some actual content to the article before renomination. Imzadi 1979  12:16, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

For such a short article, I would have expected the original reviewer to have spotted two failures to comply with the GA criteria without any difficulty. These were (1) "References" before "See also", a breach of

I endorse the above, and thank you for the review. While I did flag this article in more than one place, I didn't feel it would be appropriate for me to delist this myself, however clear cut I considered the decision to be. —WFC— 12:25, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree with the delisting. The article simply meets the criteria; there are no more information about Aruba at the 2008 Summer Olympics, even not at the official website. --

T 12:43, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply
]

I'm finding several press sources easily on Google News quoting the Aruban IOC member. Searching by the athletes' names pulls up additional results, some of which are in Dutch. Just because the official website does not contain the information does not mean it does not exist at all. Sorry, but this article needs, and can have, more content to be worthy of the rating you bestowed. Imzadi 1979  12:53, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I added a section. Can you please give me the links for that?--
T 13:09, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply

And I removed it. Copyvios are not allowed.

  • What country is Aruba? I dare say that a lot of readers would have no clue what it is.
  • "Beijing, People's Republic of China."
  • "Comité Olimpico Arubano" italicise, since it's a foreign term.
  • "did not medal." any missing word?
  • "Olympic games by 2008, where when its entrance" by the way, games should be capitalised.
  • "aboard the KLM Flight 765" the implies that Flight 765 has received significant coverage, which I don't think it has, or was mentioned earlier in the article.
  • "Judo at the 2008 Summer Olympics - Qualification" should replace hyphen with dash.
  • "for FINA by doing well" please spell FINA's full name because it's the first time the organisation is mentioned.
  • "List of Flagbearers Bejing [sic] 2008" why's there a "[sic]" tag?

Fixed sans the first issue, since not sure what I can do besides have the link in the first word. As for the sic tag, Beijing is spelled wrong (Bejing). Wizardman Operation Big Bear 04:25, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
