accuracy

I just found that Aimee Mullins, who won two gold medals in these games is not even mentioned on this page. Another competitor is listed for the medals IPC lists as her wins. Are we sure that this page is accurate? - BanyanTree 13:39, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In the results page that you linked to, notice that the "medal" column has only dashes. This means she did not medal in the events. If you click on the event name, you can see that she did not make the final round of the 100 m and finished last in the long jump. — jwillbur 23:31, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I feel stupid now. I'm not sure how Mullins' could have set Olympic records in those events without medaling, but I'm beginning to suspect that there's some spin doctoring being done to Mullins' bio. Thanks for your clarification. - BanyanTree 23:54, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know if the bit about her setting records is true, but it is at least possible. Paralympic records are kept for each separate disability classification, but the events often combine multiple classifications. So if she was the only F46-class athlete in that long jump event, for example, she could have set a F46 record even though she was beaten by all the other (F42 to F45-class) athletes. — jwillbur 00:43, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

tally

I have started an Athletics medal tally tally, but I have only included the top 10. Should we include a complete list like Athletics_at_the_2008_Summer_Paralympics#Medal_table. John Vandenberg (chat) 03:02, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
