Smudging the face with charcoal prior to visiting a new place is not a local tradition. This is a custom of the people of at least the following bands: Lake Babine, Takla, Tl'azt'en, Yekooche, Nak'azdli, Nadleh, quite possibly pan-Carrier.Bill (talk) 19:25, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
