Interesting place

The British Raj era maps don't show the Batalik village. Instead, they have a village called "Dumgul" or "Dumgal" in its place. Trying to find out how Batalik came into being, I ran into the fact that it was military base established in the 1960s.

According to Wikimapia, Dumgul still exists. It is lower down at the river level. Between Batalik and Dumgul, there is another level called "Yogmathang" ("Lower Plain"). Google satellite imagery showing all three levels.
