A section on amateur RL in the area may be useful, as would some photographs (particularly any from previous eras) and a section on notable players. Batley or Morley?

"The British Rugby League Records Book" has Harry Bedford at Batley, whereas the 1890 Home Nations Championship article has him at Morley R.F.C., which is correct? Best Regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 13:19, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

First match

I've found a reference to Batley's first match against Bradford Zingari taking place on 2 October 1880 in this book - Delaney, Trevor (1991). The Grounds Of Rugby League.

ISBN 0-9509-9822-2. This would pre-date the challenge match between the two rugby sides to decide who would be the new club, which seems illogical. Can anyone shed any light on the matter? Peaky76 (talk) 22:41, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply

Laurie Gant at Batley?
