As there is no discussion here regarding the heading citation tag here, as there is no note of who the author of it was, and as I have added a number of references (more welcome!) and expansions, I have removed the tag as it now seems unwarranted. References in popular culture

Black Elk Speaks is referenced extensively in William Least Heat-Moon's Blue Highways. Perhaps it would be good to add a section on references in popular culture? Wideaperture (talk) 20:41, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption

Thanks CorbieVeccran for the clarification; the other was from an interview by Hilda Niehardt.Parkwells (talk) 21:49, 8 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Standing Bear - which one?

The linked individual is not noted as an artist/illustrator, so I'm not sure which person is the illustrator. Delinking until clarified. - CorbieV 22:03, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Changing names of citations to auto-generated numbers is not actually preferable

@CorbieVreccan: What do you mean by changing the names? What numbers did I swap in? I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was doing anything wrong. We can revert my edits. Can you give me a link to the preferable WP method? Sorry again and thank you for the correction. TipsyElephant (talk) 03:25, 21 June 2020 (UTC) Should I revert my edits? I'd like to help improve this page. TipsyElephant (talk) 14:30, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The citations had names like ref name=hilda and ref name="DeMallie", you changed them to the autoformatted numbers, like ref name=":0", ref name=":1". Updating the URLs and putting unformatted cites into templates are improvements, so a wholesale revert is not necessarily best, but changing the names is confusing and unnecessary.

WP:CITE. I didn't change the font color and stuff though. Should I change that back or is there a formatting preference for colors? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by User:TipsyElephant (talkcontribs

Thank you for changing the citation names in the article to actual names instead of numbers. There is no need to change the colors of fonts in article space. The only reason I changed the colors here on talk was for emphasis in the explanation. - ]
