Black Widow promotional image should be removed as per copyright policy.
Wikipedia's policy that is being cited as basis is from Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria #8:
8. Significance. Non-free content is used only if its presence would significantly increase readers' understanding of the topic, and its omission would be detrimental to that understanding. Non-free media files are not used if they can be replaced by text that serves a similar function.
The copyrighted image is unnecessary and there are images of Florence Pugh on Wikimedia if a reader wants to know her appearance.
The current promotional image should be removed. Character posters are rarely featured on Wikipedia. This shouldn't set a dangerous precedent. Sleptlapps (talk) 11:53, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- You have a good point about WP:NFCC policy. My point was that copyrighted images are allowed on Wikipedia, but only if they are demonstrably fair use. This is therefore not, so I will self-revert. IronManCap (talk) 12:02, 21 July 2021 (UTC)]
