Genre

I thought this was supposed to be a comedy, and there are hits on Google news to back up "comedy-drama" or something similar. Siuenti (talk) 19:25, 28 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I thought this was a tragedy (and there is a fine line between tragedy and comedy). I'd have removed the adjective and shortened it to "American film" to keep it simple.
I see IMDB has gone with comedy and drama as the genres, but we have no way to know how that was decided, and it was most likely added by a users of the site, not necessarily anyone reliable. -- 109.78.12.148 (talk) 14:22, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Metacritic gives "comedy, drama" and RottenTomatoes and BoxOfficeMojo both give "comedy". I think it's worth putting something about the genre in the lead. Maybe "It has been classed as both a comedy and a drama"? Siuenti (talk) 20:40, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I/eye think either it#s a tragic-comedy. Because the structural patterns are circling and feeding back and forward. In addition to that the psychological profiles of the figures are tragic. Drama ist something not specific; so you may call anything so. I guess because of "Insides" meaningfull fail, "Blue Jasmin" is the film from Allan which is tragic but sucessfull. --78.34.133.161 (talk) 11:29, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As to genre, i was gonna suggest same. trag-comedy. Also folks, i got to point out, mention.. the ENTIRE film is the abck story of the crazy woman sitting on the park bench.. talking to herself. right?? ahhhhh. Makes ya think, dont it? 2602:304:CDAF:A3D0:88F5:FC21:B87E:E237 (talk) 03:27, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Plot description

The article currently says that Danny says Augie told him the full story about Jasmine tipping off the FBI - but I don't think this is correct, rather Danny merely says he learnt the full story, but not from whom. Note that Augie and Ginger never imply that they know this detail. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.171.3.128 (talk) 01:52, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Budget

That $18 million in the overview is wrong (and an absurd guess, as Allen works on a shoestring [the costume budget for one was significantly less than what the Hermes bag in the film costs]. The budget was < $8 million.

$18 million is the same value that IMDB has and the value is cited from a source that seems reliable to me. If you think there is more reliable estimate elsewhere, you would need to show us the citation and indicate why it is more reliable or preferably several different citations with a lower estimate. What is your source for saying it was <$8 million?AbramTerger (talk) 11:27, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The Numbers has $18 Million estimate. Bloomsberg's indicates Allen's budgets are typically between $15 and 25 Million which matches the $18 million. And here is another article that states: "Allen’s films have all cost less than $25 million—often closer to $15 million", which also seems to be consistent with the $18 million. None seems to suggest anywhere near $8Million for any recent film by Allen.AbramTerger (talk) 11:43, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Please disregard original comment, as initial source's unreliable (on the number posted, which btw includes a typo - I meant <$18 million; source had estimated it at $13 mil). Yes, the budget actually came in at under $18 million. Thank you. --

There are 3 sources for $18 million. What is the source for $13 Million and what makes you think it more reliable than the others? Also, as mentioned the range in 2 sources indicated $15-25 Million which is also inconsistent with the $13 million.AbramTerger (talk) 11:35, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
