Rename to broadcast monitor
I suggest we rename this page to "broadcast monitor". Then add information relevant to broadcast monitors.
Features:
blue gun
underscan
H/V delay
16:9
format support- PAL, NTSC. SDI, composite, component interfaces.
control over comb filter.
standard phosphor colors- SMPTE C, EBU, Rec. 709
etc.
- Here's a picture of a control room that I took. It's from the University of Alabama's Center for Public Televison. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:StudioB2.jpg Does this help?Dreammaker182 00:47, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
I agree - even though Video Monitor also applies to CCTV. I've added in some format info.
We need to address other stuff also, besides your list: color gamut confidence vs q/c monitoring Test patterns and TSGs as used for them
plus a few app shots, I'll look around my collection, though it's difficult as many stations do not ok reproduction - some do - just have to find an appropiate example.
if we change it will inbound links automatically change? Rcnet 23:37, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with the rename proposal, and moved the page. Mikael Häggström (talk) 04:56, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

Time to get rid of the Computer category? We need a new broadcast engineering equipment category - that whole field is very weak in this wiki. Rcnet 23:43, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
- We need a 'Broadcast Engineering Project' pronto. —IncidentFlux [ TalkBack | Contributions ] 05:55, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
