I too had wondered about the place name and St Edmundsbury. I could not find evidence (though I am not saying it doesn't exist!) for this usage as the name of the town. As someone bolder than me has now zapped it, I'd be interested to hear if there is any good evidence for this usage. My feeling was that it was the abbey and borough only but I'd be interested to hear anything to the contrary. Nevilley 07:51, 16 Mar 2004 (UTC)
- The correct name is St Edmundsbury for the borough, which includes the towns of Bury St Edmunds and Haverhill. Although locals such as myself call this place simply "Bury", however when speaking to outsiders, it is Bury St Edmunds, so not confuse people with Bury in Greater Manchester. 15975315:59, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)

It seems a little odd that there is no mention in the article of DJ Peel, given his connections with the music scene in the town and the fact that his funeral, at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, was attended by "approximately a thousand people including many artists he had championed"?
