Can't believe article wasn't here before

I can't believe there was no article on this until today. I notice there's none on Pocari Sweat either, if you're looking for something else to work on :). --Shibboleth 00:23, 4 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Taste?

I really wonder who can vouch for this stuff not tasting like cow piss. Plenty of people know what semen tastes like, but cow urine? Maybe that sentence should be modified to reflect a little uncertainty.

- If you would like to taste cow urine, go for it. Come back again and construct your sentence with certainty.

- but that would be original research! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.103.25.233 (talk) 18:39, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In the United States, the peach-flavored Calpis is packaged as CALPICO with "Calpis" on the bottle cap. One should not judge a drink by its appearance! The liquid looks like the result of mixing water with milk. The peach-flavored Calpis is one of a variety of other peach-flavored Japanese soft drinks (e.g. Momoten).

  • All the peach-flavored Japanese soft drinks I've sampled have tasted the same. I collect the bottles because the Japanese know how to package their products. Peach-flavored Calpis is a clear plastic bottle with a pink-on-white polka dotted pattern.

I've had Calpis, and it is actually quite tasty. I'm not sure what cow urine tastes like, but probably not like Calpis. --Transfinite 03:03, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I prefer Pocari Sweat over Calpis, though my wife loves the stuff. I find it too acidic for my tastes. ···

Vanilla yogurt? I don't think so. its more like a creamy light lemonade.

The taste section read like a personal viewpoint. Can someone re-edit the paragraph, to keep it in the tone of an encyclopedia? --Philip72 10:45pm, 19 July 2009 (MST)

I find it tastes a lot like a less sweet Mountain Dew without the carbonation. This stuff is godly when drunk ice cold on a hot day. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.35.218.61 (talkcontribs)

Calpis KK is going to be wholly owned into Ajinomoto

[1]

The deal would be effective October 1, 2007. Calpis KK would remained an independent company, but wholly-owned by Ajinomoto KK. I don't know how this can be reflected on this article... --Samuel di Curtisi di Salvadori 11:11, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

expats joke

"Amongst expats in Japan, the standard joke is "Where does Calpis come from?" "From Cals, of course"" I don't get it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.61.105.153 (talk) 18:18, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't get it either. 131.111.8.102 (talk) 03:34, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Probably because it sounds like "Cow Piss". 24.117.99.91 (talk) 03:54, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Melamine scandal.

Was this infected by the Malamine scandal? That wasn't just limited to China; they import ingredients. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.160.77.255 (talk) 23:37, 11 December 2008 (UTC) nope --173.15.43.201 (talk) 18:22, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

picture

someone should get a picture for this page of the drink. --173.15.43.201 (talk) 18:22, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Variations

I would like to propose making a new section about variations of Calpis. Some Wikipedia's articles about popular drinks have sections about their variations, for example,

Sprite, Sprite Zero, and Sprite Remix, I checked Calpis official web sit
e and found that the company sells some variations of Calpis. I suppose it would be a good addition for this page.

Thank you. Keigo Inoue (talk) 12:15, 28 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Calpis sponsored Nippon Animation

Hello, in the book "Hayao Miyazaki. Exploring the early work of Japan's greates animator" by Raz Greenberg, I found that Calpis was the sponsor of many japanise TV animated series, among them Anne af Green gables and Heidi. The project was named "Calpis Masterpece Theatre", then named "World Masterpiece Theatre". many thanks. --82.51.52.99 (talk) 11:25, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
