Merger proposal
I propose merging
Oops sorry about the photo, I did not know mannhai was a copyright abuser. I think the article should not be merged since i found a book called “Vietnam's Forgotten Army: Heroism and Betrayal in the ARVN” by Andrew Weist which investigates the base commander’s career in great detail as well as all the events surrounding the surrender such as its significance, nearby battles, small engagements, leadership decisions and the role of American advisors. If given some time, I think the addition of this information would merit the article existing separately Portwineconsumer (talk) 11:37, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- Once you get the book you can add the relevant details here or to the First Battle of Quang Tri or create a page for Pham Van Dinh, but there just isn't enough detail about what happened over those 3 days to justify a standalone page at present. Mztourist (talk) 16:54, 21 November 2021 (UTC)]
- User:Portwineconsumer I have seen what you added from Weist, some of which contradicts contemporary accounts that the advisers were evacuated once it was clear that Pham Van Dinh planned to surrender the base. There's nothing much new there and its still not enough for a standalone page. Mztourist (talk) 03:10, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
Ok yep i agree with you there really is not anything that warrants the article existing. I definitely should have checked other articles before creating this. Portwineconsumer (talk) 03:13, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
