Linguist status

Should there be a reference to the subject being a Linguist?
If so, how should it be described?
Are there references to tertiary (or other) qualifications?
Or some other training?
It is probably not proper to refer to Hostetter as a “amateur” Linguist, but given that there is a wiki on

Ah, yes, "Self-taught" would be a better expression. When I have a moment, I will edit the article to include this. Shot info 02:47, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
How do you know whether I am "self-taught" or not? Do you have my academic transcripts?
right, let's face it, we know nothing quotable about CFH until someone writes a biography. We can either take Aelfwine's word, or leave the article as it is.

strictly speaking, even if he was willing to help, we couldn't accept his information per

Good point and an even better idea. Personally I was hoping that this article would be able to stand on it's own like (say) David Crystal and included in the List of linguists. Shot info 08:21, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What does the "F" stand for

In Hostetter's name? I believe in the archieves of TolkLang there is mention of "Franklin"? Is anybody actually aware of what it is? Shot info 02:47, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Franklin it is it would seem Shot info 12:23, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
