Corrected title

I've corrected the title from "Cenn Fáelad mac Aillila" to "Cenn Fáelad mac Ailella", the correct genitive of Ailill (see the relevant entry of the Annals of Ulster). --Nicknack009 (talk) 12:21, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of large amounts of content

In the edit history of this article, I noticed that the majority of it had been removed as unsourced, presumably for lacking inline citations. While this is definitely a concern, I think that the cited bibliography would be more than capable of substantiating any claims made by the content. I've replaced it, but have added a tag to call for the necessary cleanup. { } 01:36, 4 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Premise of entire article has it wrong

His story is not about becoming eidetic, but about him being the first to begin writing down the oral traditions. The "brain of forgetting was knocked out of him" is not meant to be understood literally, but to indicate him writing down the oral verse so that it can't be forgotten. That is his victory, his fame. The claimed father of Irish written lore. The fact it's wrapped into a fantastical tale is just a story-telling feature. Like Jonah being swallowed by a whale.
