Merge with Chimu culture?

I don't see a reason not to merge this page with that of the Chimu culture. This page is a stub because all the information that would be put here is on the other page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Last edited by: (talkcontribs) 00:32, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I would also agree that this needs merging with
Chimu culture, none of this information requires a separate page and can easily be included in the suggested page.Grnrchst (talk) 16:05, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply

Support merge, but Chimor seems like the broader topic, so I argue that the merge should be to that page, despite that fact that it is currently shorter. Klbrain (talk) 13:22, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Klbrain: I think this was a mistake. There is a difference between the empire and the people, the civilization. On Fr.wiki and es.wiki there are two sepereate articles for Inca civilization and the Inca empire. I think we should move anything like society, culture, and architecture in this article to Chimu culture, making this article about the historic-military entity. If you look back at the pre-merge page you'll see that there is very little that isn't culture. Fr.wiki and es.wiki are welcome to make different decisions. While there has been expansion over the last 2.5 years, much of it also seems to be culture. So, my view is still that discussing the empire and its culture, as interdependent topics, works. If you feel differently, feel free to propose a
WP:SPLIT. Klbrain (talk) 19:20, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply

I propose a split (this wasn’t done through request either, was it?). There. This page should discuss administration, historical debates, economy (no word about its dependance on irrigation yet). It lacks a lot of important details. But, in order to improve this page with these details about the actual socio-territorial structure, the cultural aspects should have their own page. Religion, society, life, economic activities, art. This is my proposal. Encyclopédisme (talk) 19:40, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In addition to this, Chimu culture is actually a different thing from the chimu state-like structure it owns. The history of the chimu culture also includes the proto-chimu moche culture, while the history of the socio-territorial structure is about the birth and development of the state, and its fracturation by the Inca. Sources for the information in the Ceramics section?

In the section on ceramics there are some claims that early Chimú pottery had some similarities to that of Moche potter. Can anyone find a source to this claim? Lord Phoebos (talk) 19:13, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
