The definition of AR is in-accurate: AR and Ozena are two different conditions. It is true that Ozena often accompanies primary Atrophic Rhinitis, but it doesn't have too. To the autor of this article - please note:

1. Atrophic Rhinitis is not Ozaena. These are two seperate conditions. AR can exist without Ozaena. Ozaena means disintegration of bones in the nasal cavity, while AR is atrophy of the nasal mucosa.

2. What about the explanation of "secondary" atrophic rhinitis?
