Cronos' Time Powers

Well, In the 90 minute "special presentation", he made the clock move backwards one second before New Year's Day and again when he made the sun rise 1.35 seconds late.

Cronos also uses his time powers to send Herry back in the past to perform Hercules' labours in episode 1.21: Labour Day.

Also in the "special presentation", he stops time for a split second at the power plant.

Why did someone combine two of the responses to this? This isn't the actual article, so there's no need to condense information, especially when those responses could very well have come from two different people. Xanthophiliac 13:28, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The magical rings made the sun rise late! Not Cronus' time powers! But he DID go back in time to kill Odie, and then to the Titan War.

Atlanta's New Weapon

While she didn't actually end up replacing her bolas, it would be great if someone who caught the name of that wristband weapon she wore in episode 1.16: Get Kraken, as well as what it does exactly, added that to the gadgets and Vehicles section. Xanthophiliac 01:34, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, I found the name after reading the draft script for episode 1.23: Cronus' Flying Circus. The weapon name's been added, though the function explanation is fairly short. Xanthophiliac 00:17, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have not seen Atlanta using her steel bolas after episode 1.16: Get Kraken.

The Krakken episode? I don't think that putting the bolas back on the shelf is considered using them. She last used them in episode 1.17: Eye for an Eye.

Splitting the Article

With the amount of detail and information that's being put into the different entries, not to mention that there are still many episodes of the first season left, the article should probably be divded up into several pages. I'm thinking lists like the Gadgets and Vehicles, Guest Stars, and Locations should probably be put on their own pages and linked from the main article, but maybe that's not the best way to divide it up. Xanthophiliac 03:43, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Voice Actors

Does anyone know the show's voice actors? If so, could they put it on this article? Thanks.

I've included all of the voice actors I can find on imdb.com, tv.com, and from watching some of the episodes' end credits, but there's definitely still quite a bit of information left to find. Xanthophiliac 03:39, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Great. Thanks.
Jay - Kirby Morrow.
Odie - Doron Bell Jr.
Herry - Ty Olssen.
Atlanta - Meghan Black (Season #1) Sarah Edmonson (Season #2).
Archie - Sam Vincent.
Theresa - Kelly Sheridan.
Neil - Ted Cole.
Cronus - David Kaye.
Voilá. There you go.

The Good Looking vs. The Good-Looking

On the show's opening theme song, Neil's title is "The Good-Looking" while on this article and Teletoon's website, Neil's title is "The Good Looking". Which is correct?

Grammatically, "Good-Looking" is correct. Incidentally, while it surprises the kids, the mythological Athena was mistress of all physical skills, cooking included.

Guest Stars = Secondary Characters?

In this article, some characters that only appeared in one episode are placed as Secondary Characters but others are placed under Guest Stars. Why?

The tendency seems to be to place characters who are gods into the Secondary Characters category to keep all of those interpretations together, but you're probably right that a number of them should be placed in Guest Stars, at least for now. Is there a criteria for how often a character has to have appeared before they can be listed as a Secondary Character? Xanthophiliac 13:40, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Not that I know of.

The Couples Section

From looking at the editing history of the main article, there seems to be some contension as to whether the Couples section should exist or not. Discuss. Xanthophiliac 02:14, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It seems trivial, considering that it's just a fan's opinion of what is popular about the series. It isn't particularly key to the story.
I agree. I personally don't think it's important enough to include as a seperate section on its own, especially since the same information is already conveyed better and somewhat more objectively. It's not the main focus of the series either, but then again, that is opinion. That section also, I think, doesn't match the rest of the article in terms of how encylcopaedia-like it is -- like you said, it's more opinion than information -- and the slash thing is especially too arbitrary (particularly when it was originally cited as one fic, then two -- is someone just going to keep increasing the number everytime a story is uploaded? It seems extremely trivial). So, to sum it up, I personally think the relationships section should be REMOVED for now, with the information relevant to it dispered in the Main Characters section. If it becomes a much bigger issue (eg. like it seem like it will in Season 2), then maybe include it then. Xanthophiliac 03:53, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think that section should stay in because the heroes ARE sort of regular teenagers just like in real life. Sure, real-life teens don't have to save the world in their spare time, or have unique powers, but that's the only difference. There needs to be details about that. C.O.T.T.Lover

Ditto. Whoever wrote that part before this one, I totally agree with you!
Thanks for the support! You ROCK! C.O.T.T.Lover

The director just put 5 storyboard scenes from a new episode, and mentioned that there were a lot of fans of the Archie/Atlanta 'relationship.' So I think the section should be put back in. (By the way, you're going to have to see the scenes for youselves. The blog is linked to this article)

I saw the pictures too, and agree that the section should be put back.

Odie's Resemblance to Odysseus

One of the more recent additions to Odie's entry in the Main Characters section is that he 'bears no physical resemblance to his ancestor'. Personally, I disagree with this statement. While there is clearly a marked racial-ethnic difference (then again, the other characters, with a partial exception of Jay, don't seem particularly Greek), the show's interpretation of Odysseus does, in fact, bear a bit of a physical resemblance to Odie. In episode 1.17: Eye for an Eye, Chiron brings out scrolls telling of the blinding of Polyphemus, and on the one scroll depicting Odysseus, he very clearly looks a lot of Odie, particularly in terms of the hairstyle. I personally support removing the phrase about no physical resemblance, but I would like to hear what others think too. Xanthophiliac 02:24, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In several episodes, other characters don't seem to agree. Aeolus in 1.15 Odie-sey says that Odie doesn't really look like Odysseus (though the love-sick Calypso seems to think he does). In 1.17 Eye for an Eye, Polyphemus also says that Odie doesn't really look Odysseus either (though he also says that none of the heroes are as he expected when Cronus shows them the descendants). Odie doesn't seem to think he resembles Odysseus particularly, considering in 1.6 Trojan Horse when he's researching his ancestor, he remarks "we don't even look alike". Well, even with all my contradictory comments, I don't think the phrase should be removed necessarily, but maybe made less extreme?
Less extreme is fine with me. It's definitely one of those sorts of opinion-ish sorts of things. Xanthophiliac 03:49, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
To add to the confusion, I watched the Trojan Horse episode today, and the bust of Odysseus that Odie looks at on his computer is VERY different from how Odysseus is protrayed on the scrolls in Eye for an Eye. Very confusing. Xanthophiliac 03:30, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The director also just put up a character model sheet done by the show's lead designer up on his blog along with other hero-related material, and Odysseus in that image does bear a very striking resemblance to Odie. Xanthophiliac 03:15, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmation for Certain Speculations?

A number of recent additions to the Main Characters section have prompted me to wonder whether they should be included at all, since they are based on speculation or almost entirely baseless. For example, the idea of Atlanta being the youngest. We know she is a junior, but we don't really know anyone else's age, so to speculate from that alone that she is the youngest seems like a jump in conclusions. Yes, she got upset when Archie said he couldn't take orders from a junior, but that isn't proof she's the youngest. Odie sometimes seems to be refered to as the youngest one (that, or they're refering to his size), but either way, we DON'T have any way of knowing who's youngest, and I think that should be removed.

Also, someone added that Theresa can use her clairvoyance to cast magic spells. Maybe this was done in the Hecate episode, but we haven't seen it, and thus, I don't think it should be included. Likewise, I think this may have also come from the draft script of the Melampus episode, BUT that episode also has not aired and has apparently been changed drastically, so I don't think it should be included. Along similar lines, the information about Neil giving Archie a makeover was also from that draft script, and since we don't know whether it made it into the final version, I think that bit should also be removed. Xanthophiliac 21:20, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

She DID learn a little magic in the Hecate episode.

Who's Hecate?

It's kind of complicated, actually. In our modern times, we'd probably say she was the Goddess of Witchcraft, but her domains were a little more complex and varied than that in Greek mythology, and it kind of depends on your source (like most myths). Generally, she's the Goddess of Crossroads -- hence the title of her episode -- and in ancient Greece, crossroads were actually y-shaped and represented a character having to make a difficult choice (hence the three roads -- the one you're on eventually forks to two paths). She's also sometimes a moon goddess (along with Selene and Artemis) and is also a chthonic goddess, among other things. We'll have to see what her episode is like before we can speculate on her portrayl in the much beyond the official summary. Xanthophiliac 03:59, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Who said that Jay was a sailing instructor?

In 'Chaos 101, Part I', there's a scene where Jay is sailing on the lake (just before the giant attacks him) and he's teaching four kids how to sail. I believe that's where the information came from originally. Xanthophiliac 22:12, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. I thought he was in a race.

According to a book I read on mythology, Cronus was a god or representative of time.

Discrepiences and Trivia

This section is getting a little too long. Is there anyway to make it shorter, either by taking stuff out or spliting the section up?

I was thinking of re-organizing it under episode headers, but at the same time, I think some of the trivia may be violating Wikipedia's policy regarding new theories and speculation. However, given that I've written-up most of this section (sorry) and I am currently putting together a comprehensive fansite with a big mythology section, I could always move the material there and expand on it and just link to it from this page's Links section. But I'll need to back-up the list first, since I don't have it saved anywhere else and I doubt I could re-recall everything from memory. Xanthophiliac 06:36, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. Maybe someone ambitious with enough time could sort it out.
I sorted out discrepencies versus trivia (and without taking anything out, so you can still use the stuff for your site). Anything that is somewhat ambigious can be moved after discussion. I hope that this makes it a little clearer. If not, it can be reverted.

Animation Template Box

I originally put the animation template up in the first section, but someone has since removed it, but without explaining why. Can someone please clarify this? If there's no strong reason for why it was removed, I will put it back up. Xanthophiliac 22:19, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What's an Animation Template Box?

Harpy Exam Results

This information strikes me as excessive and not exactly fitting a section that basically acts as a bestiary, and should therefore be removed. That sort of stuff seems more suited to plot summaries, if someone were to begin creating individual articles for each episode. What does everyone else think? Xanthophiliac 17:34, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think the results should be shown somehow. I can't tell if you agree or not. C.O.T.T.Lover

stereotypical queer man?????

Hey, when was this piece written? The '50's?? Hades is the "stereotypical queer man"??

Wikipedia has become one of the most important sources of information on the internet or anywhere, so it would be better if archaic language such as this were edited.

Does anyone else agree??

It might be fair to describe his behaviour as "effeminate" instead.

Oh really? Then you mind telling me what his accent most strongly reminds you of, Hmm?24.89.74.34 (talk) 18:48, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Has the show been CANCELLED!? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.151.62.46 (talk) 01:07, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Spontaneous Combustion?

Since when has Cronos demonstrated spontanious combustion as one of his powers? Also, I think we should put back super healing as one of his powers.

I think it's refering to the time in 1.17: Eye for an Eye where he waved his hand at the furnace and the interior instantly lit on fire. But I agree on adding super-healing back. Xanthophiliac 22:57, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There is also an incident where Cronos gets swallowed by Typhoeus' fire in episode 1.1: Chaos 101.

Cronos escaping from Tartarus via Portal

When Cronos was imprisoned in Tartarus, why didn't he escape by creating one of his portals to escape through?

I guess we may never know, but I'm assuming that the Olympian gods would be smart enough to be aware of that power and us their own special powers to prevent him from doing so. Or perhaps it's an ability he acquired later, especially since it isn't until later in the season we see him use them. There's no definite answer to it, and it's probably best not to think too hard about it. Xanthophiliac 07:19, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
In which episode did Cronos first demonstrate his power to create portals?
I could be wrong, but I personally remember seeing them for the first time in 'The Odie-sey'. I can check to make sure though. Xanthophiliac 09:08, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I found out myself, it was in 'Prisoner Campe'.

Olympus High School vs Olympia High

I very clearly remember Hera introducing the school as 'Olympus High School' in 'Chaos 101' when Jay, Herry, and Atlanta first enter the secret wing of the school and that's what I've changed it to for the page, yet everywhere else seems to refer to it as Olympia High. Was there ever an episode that actually refered to the school as such, or is it conjecture people are making based on the city being called New Olympia? Xanthophiliac 02:11, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're right. Hera did call the school 'Olympus High School.'

Dragons in Episode 1.02: Chaos 102

Someone recently added that a dragon attacked Theresa in 'Chaos 102'. I very clearly remember that creature ALSO being a griffin, albeit of a different appearance than the ones Hermes uses, but definitely not a dragon. I do have this episode on VHS though, so I can check. Xanthophiliac 00:07, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How did you get the episode on VHS?
It was recorded onto a VHS tape like one usually records TV shows when you can't watch them right away? It's not anything official, just taped for my own personal viewing. Xanthophiliac 08:21, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I see. How often do they screen Chaos 101, 102 & 103?
At this rate, it seems like every two or three months on Cinetoon. It was first aired on December 31 and January 1, then February 11 (or around there), and again in mid-May. So I'd anticipate it being in July or August next time. Xanthophiliac 07:39, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It aired July 1st.

Thanks for the info. Will try to see if the creature that attacked Teresa in Chaos 102 is a griffin or a dragon the next time I watch it. The creature had feathers if I remember.
How can you be sure the creature was a grffin?
It's a pretty good bet if the back of its body is like a lion and the front is like an eagle, with eagle wings. If I recall correct, the 'evil' griffin had a weird tail though.

05:49, 3 June 2006 (UTC) Does anyone have any idea why when I search for this article using the Wiki search engine, it doesn't seem to be there? (David Johns) 05:49, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

I saw a pic of the two creatures fighting on the director's blog, and it was a dragon.

Air date of 'See You at the Crossroads'

In case anyone (particularly Canadians) were wondering why this episode now has an air date, the episode did air in Australia on June 5, 2006, even though it won't air in Canada until much later (maybe on Halloween). Since the original air dates never had a country specified, I went with whichever date was the first airing date overall rather than the first in the country of origin. If that's not how it's supposed to work, feel free to change it. Xanthophiliac 08:12, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I saw the episode a week and a half ago, and entered the Canadian Air Date.

Herry vs Harry

Whoever is changing all the spelling of 'Herry' to 'Harry', STOP IT. PLEASE. I fully understand that whoever is making the changes may not understand the alternative spellings, but it is NOT A MISTAKE. It's spelled 'Herry' in the English version of the show. That said, I'll reverse the changed spellings once I recall how to do it. Xanthophiliac 02:35, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Moving character information to seperate articles?

The information on each of the individual characters seems to have become too detailed to remain on this page. It may be better to set-up individual character articles at this point, especially with more information coming in Season Two next year. Someone HAS started a page for Herry, but at present, it is extremely poor in quality. Xanthophiliac 07:14, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing as how the artice has become too long and cumbersome, I've taken the libetry of moving some of the more minor sections to their own articles, in addition to linking this page back to those new articles. If you have a problem with this or disagree with how this is being done, please participate in this discussion first rather than automatically reverting the edits. Xanthophiliac 16:59, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure how many people still seem to be reading this, but there's been some deletion controversy lately on whether seperating some of the longer lists into their own articles is a good idea or not. A good example is the Mythological creatures of Class of the Titans page, where there is currently a discussion going-on about whether it is notable enough or not to warrant deletion. Please take the time to participate in this discussion, whether you are pro or anti-deletion. Xanthophiliac 09:08, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Mythological Creatures, Guest Stars, and the Gadgets and Veihichles sections have been sepatated into different articles.

Air date of 'Bows and Eros'

According to a Singaporean television channel for children [1], 'Bows and Eros' aired on June 21, 2006 according to today's listing (which will be removed later today), so I've included that as the original air date. Xanthophiliac 13:57, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea. I put the fact that it hasn't been aired in Canada (for the benefit of the people who don't bother to read the discussion page).

The problem I have with how it's currently written is that it implies the episodes will NEVER air in Canada, which is not the case at all. Personally, I think the air dates should just be wherever they first aired, REGARDLESS of the locations. Xanthophiliac 09:12, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Polyphemus

In the mythological discrepancies section it mentions how polythemus was a shepard, not a blacksmith, but I seem to recall (though I may be mistaken) that it was stated as that in the show, and he only took up smithing after the events with odysseus.say1988 01:57, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Crete?

The name of the island where Talos rested is not mentioned, so why is it listed ln the article as Crete? Although that might be included in the mythology; I'd never heard of Talos until the show started. C.O.T.T.Lover

In mythology, Talos guarded the island of Crete. That said, the island in the show seems to be modeled after Hawaii more than anything. Xanthophiliac 09:06, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You.

Who deleted BLOOPERS?

I put the blooper section for a reason, and someone deleted it! Don't do it again! C.O.T.T.Lover

I did, and I don't apologize for it. Wikipedia is NOT an indiscriminate source of information -- bloopers are NOT encyclopedic, and they do NOT belong here. If you use other such articles at Wikipedia, you will note that they do NOT have blooper sections. If this was a real encyclopedia, do you really think there would be bloopers listed? Please submit those on a website like TV.com instead, which is actually made for those. Does anyone else agree with me? Xanthophiliac 20:17, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Check out the W.i.t.c.h. TV series article. They have bloopers. And I totally agree with whoever put it in. So sue me! And check out my user page. You'll see how annoying it is when someone deletes anybody's work. That is called being a PEST!!! User:C.O.T.T.Lover\C.O.T.T.Lover

Can we please be mature about this? Wikipedia DOES have rules so that articles can have a certain level of quality. It's up to EVERY user to uphold this. Please, none of this meant to be personal -- no one is deleting material because they're trying to be mean. Like I said, I know you're new, and it does take time to get used to policies here, but please take the time to read the policies page that I linked you to. Xanthophiliac 13:56, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. I've deleted all the stuff meant to be mean.

Thanks :) No hard feelings either way. Xanthophiliac 22:15, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What were the bloopers you were talking about? I've seen many articles that have a section called 'goofs' which points out mistakes made in each episode. But since there are no episode pages for this series, it seems alot of the 'goofs' are under mytholigcal discrepencies. Tydamann (talk) 21:42, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Original fan characters

Recently, there seem to be some people who keep returning to vandalize the article by including original fan characters as if they were existing canon characters on the show. Please don't do this -- the Wikipedia article is meant to be encyclopedic and about the show itself, not personal fanfiction. Xanthophiliac 22:16, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
