A black film in the 1970s wasn't necessarily a "blaxplotation" film, and Claudine CERTAINLY does not fit into that category. Further reading/research of reviews and essays on blaxploitation tend to refer to "Claudine" as a mainstream movie, and pinpoint it as one of the black films that came out in the middle of the blax craze that actually wasn't blax at all, which was a pretty big deal. Correction
There is not a clear agreement on the exact working definition of the Blaxploitation genre. While Claudine is not universally agreed on as a Blaxploitation (as is Shaft, for example), to say that it is "certainly not" a Blaxploitation film is plain wrong. Under many working definitions it would be categorized as such.
Claudine did not win the Golden Globe for best actress.

This film is a better representation of life, not an exploitation film. Also, the welfare commentary in the article is excessive. The Budzone guy 00:53, 1 October 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Beadbud5000 (talk • contribs)
