Hey, This film is based on a novel by Albert Sánchez Piñol, a catalan writer. I point that to improve the article, so you cant work on it. Thanks ;) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.76.106.225 (talk) 12:08, 20 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

update

I updated the nationality so it fitted the one shown onscreen, an also matched the actor - who used no accent in his role other than his own accent. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vcorani (talkcontribs) 09:31, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I just watched this movie and found it a real gem. Brilliant without being preachy, it clearly hits upon the senselessness of war. It takes place of the eve of WWI. The men in the lighthouse are dug in, much like a trench. The creatures rushing it are like the men in the enemy trenches who rush the defenders, but their trench is the ocean. The men use crude fortifications and dynamite and bullets to massacre the sea people over a petty misunderstanding that turned into hate. I would add this, but it seems like this page has many watch groups on it. I think this movie transcends horror and I think it deserves a few thematic notes in the introduction.
