All the releases I can see (the original 1964 single, the 1969 UK reissue on the B-side of "The Tracks Of My Tears" and a compilation CD consistently credit drummer Don(ald) Whited (mentioned in the article), not Ronald White, as one of the composers - he must have been responsible for the quite distinctive rhythm.
