Is there a nice way to avoid the Northern hemisphere bias in the blossom/harvest dates in the cultivation section?

Trade mark v varietal name The name PINK LADY has been the generic, varietal name for this apple variety since it was developed. The WA Dept of Agriculture and the Australian Apple & Pear Growers Assoc (who developed the variety together) have tried to register it in Australia as a trade mark for apples six times without success because of this issue. While it may have been incorrectly registered as a trade mark in the US (TM 75367550 - don't get me started on US exam practices), this does not alter the fact that it is the generic name for this variety.

The line that "Cripps Pink" is the variety name and "Pink Lady" the brand for the variety is a new tactic in an old fight to secure TM rights in a generic name. To growers, wholesalers, retailers and consumers, they are Pink Lady apples.

I have some concern that these kinds of articles will remain on Wikipedia because it is difficult to find online references that haven't been altered to reflect the plant breeder's perspective (in this case, WA Dept Agriculture's and AA&PG's perspective). To be honest I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to address it. This is why I have not edited the article as yet. 59.167.37.35 (talk) 11:42, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would support such edits. 76.232.75.130 (talk) 21:05, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PBR Change in australia

according to the australian patent office, the cripps pink has had it breeder rights changed from wa's department of agricultre, to Teak Enterprises Pty Limited. I know that = registered trademark = already lacks sources, so can anyone confirm in other countries if this has changes
