Opinions? On their help site, they say they only support Chrome 50, yet if click "Stream on all these devices" at bottom of this page, it lists Internet Explorer 11+ for Windows 8 or higher, Google Chrome 50+, Safari 8+. Anyone have a... uh... "better" source? Jauerbackdude?/dude. 20:04, 8 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Directv web site

For some reason, DirecTV has removed all details (price, channel packages, etc) from their web site - and made it accessible only if you sign up for a trial. That's off-putting to me — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.131.56.129 (talk) 12:16, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

While technically two separate services, there isn't really enough information for Watch TV to have its own separate article at this point in time. With both being AT&T services, it makes sense to have them as one article. Jgera5 (talk) 15:19, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Moot point now as it looks like it was redirected here a few days after your proposal. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 14:56, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Price Increase

The comment about the price increase seemed odd. As best I can tell, most live streaming services (and for that matter, most cable and satellite services) raise their rates annually, because the networks increase what they charge the carriers. Is this really something specific to DirecTV Stream and/or worth of mention here? 2600:1700:C241:3170:3C9D:CD92:B386:428C (talk) 23:25, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your comment is correct - annual increases (unfortunately never decreases) appear standard across the MVPD (Multichannel Video Programming Distributor - the term the FCC and Congress uses for cable and satellite) and vMVPD (virtual MVPD - the term used for the OTT streaming equivalent to an MVPD, like DirecTV Stream, GoogleTV, Hulu Live, etc) carrier services. That is always blamed on the carriers increasing costs because the networks they carry raise their prices to the carriers, which is true, though I'm sure the price increases are broader than that. Regardless, the bottom line is that there is nothing special about the price increase in h January 2023 - it happens every year and not just to DirectTV Stream - so this should be removed.
There is a lot of other cleanup to the article that should be done - I'll see if I can figure out what can be done without messing up the cites. Otl1973 (talk) 21:31, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
